Ascaris lumbricoides (Human roundworms)

The human roundworm is a large nematode, reaching approximately 20–30 cm in length in the small intestine. The life cycle is direct and the worms mature in 2–3 months in humans. This worm and pig roundworm may be the same species, due to close morphological and genetical similarity.
