Metagonimus yokogawai

This minute fluke of about 1–1.5 mm in length is parasitic in the small intestines of humans, dogs and cats. A person is infected by eating raw or undercooked sweetfish or icefish. There are no apparent symptoms once infected. The infection is often discovered when the parasite's eggs are found during stool analysis as part of a medical examination.
